Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to stays and services booked with Tulivu Resort, Nungwi, Zanzibar.

1) About these terms

By making a reservation, paying a deposit, or staying at Tulivu Resort (“we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you are booking on behalf of other guests, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for them.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect.

2) Reservations & payments

  • How to book: Reservations may be made through our website, by email, phone, or approved partners.
  • Payment methods: We may offer card and bank transfer options. If paying online, payments are processed by a third-party payment provider.
  • Non-refundable payments: All reservations are 100% non-refundable. Payments made to secure a booking are non-refundable (including in the case of cancellation, no-show, early departure, or reduction in nights).
  • Currency: Rates may be displayed in USD; your bank may apply conversion fees.
  • Taxes/fees: Applicable taxes, government levies, and service charges may apply depending on local regulations.

3) Rates, occupancy & room use

  • Occupancy: Each room type has a maximum occupancy. Additional guests may require an upgrade or an extra bed (subject to availability and fees).
  • Minimum age: A responsible adult may be required to check in and to be present for the stay.
  • Room assignment: We aim to honor preferences, but specific rooms/views cannot be guaranteed unless explicitly confirmed in writing.
  • Photographs: Images are illustrative. Actual rooms may vary in layout, décor, and view.

4) Check‑in, check‑out & identification

  • Check-in/out times: Standard check-in and check-out times may apply. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and additional fees.
  • ID requirement: Guests may be asked to present valid government-issued identification and the payment card used for booking (where applicable).
  • Security deposit: We may pre-authorize or collect a deposit to cover incidentals and potential damage.

5) Cancellations, changes & no‑shows

All reservations at Tulivu Resort are 100% non-refundable.

  • Cancellations: If you cancel for any reason, the booking is charged in full and no refund is issued.
  • No-shows: If you do not arrive on your check-in date, the booking is charged in full and no refund is issued.
  • Changes: Requests to change dates, reduce nights, or transfer a reservation are not guaranteed. If we agree to a change, it is subject to availability and current rates, and any payments already made remain non-refundable.
  • Early departure: If you depart early, the remaining nights are not refundable.

6) Guest conduct & house rules

  • Respectful behavior: Guests must behave respectfully toward staff and other guests. Harassment, threats, or illegal activity are not permitted.
  • Noise: Quiet hours may apply. Excessive noise may result in warnings or termination of stay without refund.
  • Smoking: Smoking/vaping may be restricted to designated areas. Cleaning or restoration fees may apply.
  • Pets: Pets may not be permitted unless explicitly agreed in writing.
  • Property care: Guests are responsible for damage or missing items beyond normal wear.

7) Liability & safety

  • Personal items: Guests are responsible for their valuables. We recommend using any in-room safe (if available) and exercising caution.
  • Activities: Ocean and excursion activities involve inherent risks. Participate at your own discretion and follow safety instructions.
  • Indirect losses: To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (e.g., missed flights, third-party costs).

8) Force majeure

We are not responsible for delays, disruptions, or inability to perform services caused by events beyond reasonable control (for example: natural disasters, severe weather, government action, public health emergencies, or utility outages). Where possible, we will work with you on practical alternatives.

9) Privacy

We handle personal information in line with our Privacy Policy, including information provided during booking, stay, and communications.

10) Governing law

These terms are governed by applicable laws and regulations in Tanzania (including Zanzibar, where applicable). Any disputes should be raised with us first so we can try to resolve them promptly and fairly.
